Goodwill Industries -
Opportunities in Tyler is more than a retail
thrift store and more than a sheltered
workshop. Goodwill Industries - Opportunities
in Tyler is a partnership of two strong
organizations with a 30 year commitment to
helping the disabled and disadvantaged of the
East Texas area find jobs.
Goodwill
Industries opened its doors in Tyler in 1966
and has since established itself as a
successful job training facility as well as a
retail thrift store chain. By providing
extensive vocational rehabilitation and job
skills training to anyone with a barrier to
employment, Goodwill is a partner in building
the workforce within the communities served.
Disabled or disadvantage persons are
evaluated, trained and assisted in finding
competitive employment at local businesses or
within the retail and production areas of
Goodwill.
Goodwill
retail stores prepare donations received from
the community and offer quality goods at
bargain prices. Revenue from store sales is
pumped back into job training programs.
Training provided in computer skills, retail,
office/clerical, mailroom operations,
packaging and assembly, courier services and
other areas prepares people for employment in
high demand fields.
The Industrial
Contracts campus provides high quality
contract work for regional businesses at
competitive, contract rates. This service is
often the preferred solution for businesses
looking to outsource current in-house
projects.
